The Adriatic Journal of Medical History is an academic journal dedicated to the study of medical history in the Adriatic region. It provides a platform for historians, medical experts, cultural scholars, and readers interested in medical history to gain a deeper understanding and explore the history of medical development in the region. The background of the magazine is based on an understanding of the rich medical heritage and historical contributions of the Adriatic Sea region. The Adriatic Sea is a part of the Mediterranean Sea, with coastal countries including Italy, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Greece. These regions have had an undeniable impact on the development of medicine throughout history.
The Adriatic Journal of Medical History covers the history of medicine from ancient to modern times, including but not limited to the translation and interpretation of ancient medical literature, medieval medical practices, medical innovations during the Renaissance, and the development of modern medicine in the region. The magazine encourages the use of interdisciplinary research methods, combining perspectives from disciplines such as history, medicine, anthropology, sociology, etc., to deeply analyze the dissemination and development of medical knowledge, practice, and theory in the Adriatic Sea region.
